Laundry Detergent

Norwex Laundry Detergent Uses

November 21, 2019 By Danielle Snyder Leave a Comment

Did you know the Norwex Laundry Detergent can be used for things other than laundry? I’m going to share seven ways to use the Norwex Laundry Detergent other than to do laundry!

Why Norwex Laundry Detergent?

The Norwex Laundry Detergent is great for all laundry and so many other purposes. The detergent is designed for both high-efficiency (HE) and conventional washing machines, the powerful formula whitens whites, brightens brights and dissolves grease and grime. It’s safe on all fabrics, including hand-washables and Norwex Microfiber. Imagine a laundry room with only ONE laundry detergent! Norwex will soon be printing the ingredients right on the label. Please contact me if you need to know the ingredients.

Other uses for the Norwex laundry Detergent.

Stain Remover

Make a paste with water (or Norwex Stain Remover) and pretreat stains before washing. I like to sprinkle a little Norwex Laundry Detergent on the stain, add a few drops of water and rub it together. Then wash as normal. Check to be sure stain is gone before drying, if not repeat steps.

All Purpose Spray

Dilute 1 teaspoon of Laundry Detergent in 8 oz of water in a spray bottle to used as an all purpose cleaner! This cleaner is great at breaking through grease, or to clean showers and sinks. Use this in place of any other multi-purpose cleaner you’d typically grab for, you will be impressed!

Clean Carpet

Dilute 1 tablespoon of Laundry Detergent in water and add right to your carpet cleaner! Or use it as a spot cleaner by spraying the carpet spots with the All Purpose Spray mentioned above.

Clean Makeup Brushes

Add a pinch of the Norwex Laundry Detergent to about 3/4 of warm water and soak your makeup brushes for ten minutes. Rinse the brushed and repeat until the water is clear.

Clean Porcelain Sink

Boil enough water to cover the bottom of the sink with about 1 inch of water. Plug the sink and pour the water in the sink, add 1/2 teaspoon of Laundry Detergent. Let this soak until the water. Scrub the the surface if needed with a Spirisponge or EnviroSponge etc. Drain and rinse off. This can also be done to help clean a bathtub. Just add as hot of water as you can get out of the faucet, no need to carry boiling through the house!

Clean Jewelry

Dilute a pinch of Laundry Detergent in warm or hot water for an amazing jewelry cleaner. Let the jewelry sit for a few minutes and use a toothbrush to clean the grooves. Polish and dry to a streak free finish with a Window Cloth. Please use caution, if it’s been a while since the jewelry was cleaned and inspected. I wouldn’t want the the cleaning to result in a loose diamond.

Clean Floors

Use the all purpose spray from above to spray the floor and clean with a Norwex Wet Mop Pad (Superior Wet Mop Pad or Tile Mop Pad). This is great for extra stick or goopy messes, or mystery marks that don’t come off easily with only water.

These are only a few uses for the Norwex Laundry Detergent other than doing laundry. As you can see this product is a must have for every household! I’d love to help you order a bag of laundry detergent for your home or earn it for free by hosting a party! Share any other ways you’ve used the Norwex Laundry detergent in the comments.

5 Norwex Care Tips

October 3, 2019 By Danielle Snyder 3 Comments

You just used your Norwex microfiber cloth and now what? You remember your consultant talking about proper use and care, what does that mean again?! Caring for your Norwex Cloths is important to keep the cloths working for you and your family for years to come. Follow these 5 Norwex Care Tips to keep your cloths in great shape for many years to come!

1. Use the Cloths

The first Norwex Care Tip I have is to use your Norwex products! The microfiber cloths can be used on anything dry or wet with ONLY water and may remove up to 99% of bacteria from the surface when following proper use and care instructions. Now that you have the Norwex microfiber products, use them and use them often.

2. Rinse Cloths and Hang to Dry

The second Norwex Care Tip is to rinse the cloths and hang them to dry between uses. Most of our cloths contain BacLock, an antibacterial agent for self-cleansing purposes only. After use, take the cloth to a sink and rinse under hot water. While rinsing, rub the cloth against itself and flip and do again. Rinsing well helps the cloth release whatever it just removed from the surface and activates the BacLock. Wring out the water and hang to dry by the tag. Use this cloth again when it’s dry.

3. When to Launder

The third Norwex Care Tip is about when to launder the cloths. Depending how often the Norwex cloths are used and how dirty they are after use, laundering them every 7 – 10 days works well for most people. Wash the all your Norwex together in one load. If your stash isn’t large enough to make a full load, add additional low lint items, like pillow cases and workout clothes. Always avoid high lint items like flannel and fleece.

4a. Laundry Detergent

I highly recommend choosing a Norwex Laundry Detergent. There is a liquid and a powder detergent, they both work great and will last a LONG time. These detergents were tested with the Norwex microfiber, very concentrated and are effective. If you choose to use something else it absolutely must NOT contain fabric softener or bleach! We will talk about drying shortly, also a no dryer sheets.

4b. How much Norwex Detergent per load?

If you’re using the Norwex Powder Detergent I recommend beginning with 1 TEASPOON of detergent for a medium to large load! Yes, I said teaspoon! It is so concentrated and with no fillers, a little goes a long way.

I know what you’re thinking, But Danielle, that isn’t what the directions say on the bag! I know, and here is why. The Norwex Detergent Guidelines are a general guide for world wide use. At least, here in the United States our consultants have found the best results by only using 1 to 2 teaspoons per load. If you’re doing that math, you’re realizing how long a bag will last! For reference, a bag will last about 3 months for every day laundry for my family of three. If you only use it for your Norwex Laundry, it’s pretty standard to expect it to last 2 years.

If you’re using the Norwex Liquid Detergent, I’ve found the best results with only ONE pump maybe two for medium to large loads. If it’s a small load I try for half pump. But let’s be real, I rarely have a small load. I’m a bigger and fewer laundry loads kind of gal!

There are a few external factors to consider that will effect the amount you need to use. One the water hardness, city or well water, and soil level of the clothes or cloths etc, just like with any other detergent. Begin with less, and add more next time. if needed.

5. How to Dry

The fifth Norwex Care Tip is about drying. To keep your cloths soft and fluffy, dry them in the dryer, but NO dryer sheets! Everything can be tossed in the dryer, cloths, mop pads, hand towels, chenille hand towel, really everything with microfiber! Grab a set or two of dryer balls, we have two types. I prefer the Fluff and Tumble Dry Balls, they are wool and come in a three pack.

Bottom line, make the investment and add some Norwex Laundry Detergent and dryer balls to your next order. Your cloths will handle a lot of dirty messes, so keep them in the best shape to enjoy a long and happy life with you.

Norwex Care doesn’t need to be scary and complicated! I use my Norwex detergent for my regular laundry too. I don’t have to worry about a special detergent for whites and delicates, because it’s safe for everything! Oh and did I mention, it’s not just for laundry!

I hope you found these tips helpful! If you have more questions comment here or send me an email! I’d love to stay connected, so head over to my Facebook Page for more Norwex and mom life tips!
